How much we charge for filming and photography on land we manage.
Feature films
Budget Band 1. Up to £1.25m production budget.
If it involves less than 100 cast and crew, costs are:
- £1,640 per day for filming
- £820 per day for preparation
- £820 per day for strike (clear up)
If it involves more than 100 people, the price would be subject to commercial negotiation.
Budget Band 2+ More than £1.25m production budget.
If it involves less than 100 cast and crew and/or lasts three days or less, costs are:
- £2,050 per day for filming
- £1,025 per day for preparation
- £1,025 per day for strike (clear up)
If it involves a greater number of cast and crew and /or lasts for four days or more, the price would be subject to commercial negotiation. We may be able to reduce our fee if the filming brings benefits to the environment, such as habitat improvement.
TV dramas
A UK network or limited series. Budget Band 1 – up to £1.25m production budget.
If it involves less than 50 cast and crew and / or takes place over three days or less, costs are:
- £1,640 per day for filming
- £820 per day for preparation
- £820 per day for strike (clear up)
An international, studio or syndicated drama. Budget Band 2+ more than £1.25m production budget.
If it involves less 50 cast and crew and / or lasts three days or less:
- £2,050 per day for filming
- £1,025 per day for preparation
- £1,025 per day for strike (clear up)
If it involves a greater number of cast and crew and /or lasts for four days or more, the price would be subject to commercial negotiation. We may be able to reduce our fee if the filming brings benefits to the environment, such as habitat improvement.
TV commercial
For any number of people per day costs are:
- £3,075 per day for filming
- £1,025 per day for preparation
- £1,025 per day for strike (clear up)
Photoshoot
If it involves less than ten people, costs are £515 per half day.
If it involves more than ten people, the price would be subject to commercial negotiation.
Documentaries
If the filming or photography covers environmental issues that are part of our remit e.g., nature conservation work, habitat restoration work, flooding work etc. and involves ten people or less, we charge a £75 one-off administrative fee.
If the filming or photography covers environmental issues that are not part of our remit and involves ten people or less, costs are £310 per half day.
Student or course-related filming
There is no charge for students who are filming as part of their course.
Small independent productions
For a cast and crew of up to ten people, we charge £205 a day.
Community groups
We charge £205 a day if your cast and crew is more than fifteen people. If it’s fewer than 15 people, we charge a one-off administrative fee of £75.
How we calculate costs
All prices exclude VAT.
Our cost per day is based on our regular working hours from 9am to 5pm.
We include an admin fee unless we state otherwise.
Our staff time
We charge £500 per full day for our staff time. This includes time required for ‘recces’ and any monitoring.
Local site conditions
You must follow local site rules and conditions. These conditions can include damage to Sites of Special Scientific Interest. These local site conditions will be subject to your location filming agreement.
Sustainable production principles
You must work in accordance with the Sustainable Production Principles and hold a BAFTA Albert Certification. You must make sure an Environmental Management System is in place that is proportionate to the scale of your operation.
If these are not in place, we reserve the right to add a 5-10% surcharge. The price would be subject to commercial negotiation.
