The role

Design, deliver and evaluate workshops on a range of topics - including leadership & skills development.

Develop interventions that support modern ways of working, including delivery face to face and online, designed to meet identified needs.

Develop and maintain a range of individual, team and organisational stakeholder relationships, across the organisation to promote a systematic and high quality approach to leadership, management and organisational development across NRW.

Identify and promote best practice in management, leadership and organisational development.

Investigate and consider up to date theories and models for managers and leaders that support current leadership thinking and practice and stretch for future development.

Develop a refreshed offer of leadership interventions targeted at each of the specific audiences identified in our curated offer.

Commission additional resources, inline with NRW's procurement processes.

There are no line manager responsibilities with this role and reports direct the the leadership team member.  This is a pan Wales role with majority of the work delivered from an office location or home.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

What you will do

  • Lead and deliver projects, informed by the workforce plan, staff engagement plan and management and leadership development plan, responding to the changing needs of our organisation and the external environment, designing, delivering and evaluating sustainable solutions to ensure the resilience of our people and our organisation.
  • Proactively coach and develop our managers build and sustain their confidence to lead and manage their teams and develop talent to provide satisfying careers and a resilient workforce.
  • Advise and coach managers to identify the training needs of their teams to support both technical and other skills development in line with our values.
  • Design and deliver team building and other behavioural development interventions  both proactively and reactively.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate workshops on a range of development topics – involving internal subject matter experts where appropriate.
  • Develop policy and produce reports to illustrate their impact and inform culture change.
  • Provide professional coaching support to individuals to facilitate appropriate decisions about their future, including outplacement support during any change programmes.
  • Identify well-being needs and take appropriate actions to mitigate any negative impact.
  • Lead other work areas in the Organisational Development team and directorate as appropriate.
  • Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills

In your application and interview you will be asked to demonstrate the following skills and experience using the STAR method.

  1. CIPD qualified or equivalent with considerable experience of working as a Learning and Development practitioner or manager with a track record of developing talent.
  2. Experience of developing people and supporting culture change in teams and organisations
  3. Enthusiasm for researching new thinking and ways of working that engage and inspire a diverse workforce to enable us to attract and retain talent in our organisation
  4. Proven project management skills and the ability to inspire confidence and communicate at all levels in our organisation.

 

Welsh language level requirements

  • Essential:  Level A1 – able to pronounce Welsh and use basic phrases
